Kimberly's Story

My passion is foreign languages.

Since I was small, I have always been curious about other languages, since I grew up in a household where both English and Spanish was spoken. Therefore, when I learned about other languages I was beyond eager to learn more about them. Now that I am in high school, I have taken the fist chance at having a foreign languages class and am now currently taking my second year of French. Now I am looking for an opportunity to delve deeper.

Experiment in International Living is a great program that I am looking forward to working with because it gives opportunities to young adults like me to have a chance to pursue my passion. I am excited at just the thought of having a possible experience of studying abroad since I have never gone farther than the nearest state.

A Note from Mrs. Morris, Kimberly's Mentor

Kimberly would be a wonderful candidate for Experiment in International Living because she would bring her leadership skills and mentoring spirit to the space. She is truly a leader amongst her peers and is mature beyond her years. She would benefit from participating in this program because of the opportunity to meet scholars from around the world. It would help Kimberly step outside of her comfort zone and grow as a leader in her community.

Preparing for EIL

I have been accepted into the Experiment in International Living and have covered the payment for the program with the help of a scholarship from EIL and Wishbone. I am now just preparing for the trip by obtaining a passport and visa. I have already received my passport but now I just need to receive my visa which I have already applied for. I am excited and can't wait for my trip to Vietnam this summer.
