jacky's Story

My passion is volleyball.

My main passion is volleyball because it has helped me relief stress. For some people volleyball might just seem like a cool game to play, but it has helped me have courage and show what I'm made of.

Volleyball is a sport for me, but it's also helped me get my grades up. I asked for help at volleyball practice. After a few weeks, I finally noticed that I was more focused and I had stopped slacking off with my friends. I saw that my GPA had gone from a 2.1 to 3.0 GPA!

A Note from Ms. Ceja, jacky's Teacher

Volleyball has truly helped Jacky come out of her comfort zone. At the beginning of the year, she was a bashful student that rarely participated in class. However once I saw her become more involved in the volleyball program at school, Jacky also become more involved in the class.

I believe attending the US Sports Nike Volleyball Camps will benefit Jacky greatly because it would allow her to continue to grow in ways her community and school cannot. By attending the camp, Jacky will continue to practice not only her volleyball skills, but her communication and collaboration skills as well.

Awesome expiercince

My name is Jackeline, I went to volleyball camp. It was at Soka University. When I first got there, I felt nervous, I did not know anyone. I said to my self I am gonna be lonely the whole time. Turns out by the next day, I had friends, I met new people, and connected a lot with them. It was very fun to be able to learn new skills and play volleyball. At the end I was handed an award for being the only most improved and I was really proud of myself and so was my family. I had so much fun I didn't want to leave. It is an experience I will never forget.

Looking foward to volleyball camp!

I am looking forward to learning even more about volleyball skills. I feel like I will achieve a lot of skills in volleyball and be better at it. I want to know how to bump, set and especially spike way better because I need improvement with that. I feel that I will get a lot out of this camp and will want to go back. I am looking forward to having a great time and getting to know more people. I am very excited about this camp I am about to experience.
