My passion is basketball.
One day after school at the park, everyone was lined up trying to make make a free throw shot. I stood on the line and waited my turn, watching everyone fail at their attempt at making the shot. When it was my turn to shoot, they passed me the ball. I threw the ball towards the rim and prayed for it to go in. It banged against the backboard and went into the hoop. I was so excited and proud of myself. From that day on, I knew that basketball and I had a passion for one another.
Attending Nike Basketball Camp will help me explore my passion for basketball in many different ways. One way is that this program offers development in many skills in basketball such as shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding and defense. The camp will also help me improve life skills, such building up my confidence and social skills with other coaches and players. If I attend the camp, I will leave as a better player as well as a better person.
"Sidiki is a great candidate for Nike Basketball Camp because of his great passion for basketball. He is dedicated to improving his skills and will work tirelessly until he reaches his goal. Sidiki will benefit greatly, as he is a freshman already making plans for summer internships and opportunities. Sidiki is not one to sit around and relax over vacation but seize opportunities to better himself. Not only will he bring back improved skills to our high school's basketball team but he will also foster great leadership skills and self confidence to become a powerful influencer in our school's community both on and off the court."

I had an amazing time at basketball camp, learning so much about the game, making friends, and being able to help others exceed at playing basketball. I've learned a lot from this experience and hope to share my knowledge with others. But, I couldn't have have done it with out you. I will never forget your example of generosity and if there's anything that I can do to return the favor, then I'd be honored to do so. Thank you for your time and have a great life!
