Corrine's Story

My passion is fashion.

Fashion became my passion as I grew up because of my interest in creativity. Through fashion, I feel as if I can connect to my emotions based on colors and the type of styles used.

Parsons Pre-College Academy was my first choice as a summer program. Given the opportunity to attend this program, I’ll make sure that I am able to get all the help I can in order to best explore the fashion industry. Attending this program will help me have a greater knowledge of sewing, pattern work, and learning how to draw.

"Corrine is a rare individual in that she is a confident leader who has a strong sense of empathy and compassion for her peers. For this reason, I think Corrine is an exemplary candidate for Parsons Pre-College Academy. She has already demonstrated that she is self-motivated and able to overcome obstacles in pursuit of her passion. She has had limited opportunities to participate in an authentic fashion and design program, which is not offered by our school. Granting her the ability to participate in the Parsons Pre-College Academy would open doors to Corrine that she’s had no previous exposure to."

Thank you for the experience

Dear Donors,

Thank you for the wonderful experience I was able to have at Parsons College.
This program was entirely helpful, as I not only learned how to draw, but I was also able to use my creativity and imagination while using three button down shirts to make several outfits. This program opened my eyes to the numerous opportunities that many are not given on a daily basis.

Excited for Parsons Pre-Colllege Program

I will be attending Parsons Pre-College Program as a way for me to learn more about fashion and explore different opportunities that I'll have in the Fashion Design field. One reason why I chose this program is because I saw it as an opportunity to try something that I don't have the opportunity to do based on my school's curriculum. I also chose this program because I felt that it was a good start for me to learn how college classes will go. In this program, I am looking forward to experiencing college classes, while getting to learn new information about becoming a fashion designer.
