My passion is law. Throughout my childhood, I have always been very passionate about doing what is right. As a young Latino student, I have grown up studying the laws that make up the world I live in. Many times I ask myself "Why is that a law? What would happen if that law was not in place?" The truth is, it took myself a while to answer that question, but now I fully understand that each law is passed for a reason. Laws are necessary as they serve to stabilize the people and the way they behave. I want to be a lawyer and a leader in my community to help regulate these laws. I hope to one day run for Congress and help make the laws.
Lawyers and law makers are leaders in their communities. Attending the National Teen Leadership Program will teach me the skills I need to have in order to one day become a lawyer. This program will help me seek opportunities to start building my career.
Miguel is one of the most outstanding students I have known in my 36 years of teaching and counseling. Miguel has ha many obstacles in his life, but he has never let even one of them slow him down. He constantly sets both long-term and short-term goals for himself - some of them very lofty - and he has achieved every one. I have seen him attend and participate in programs and events that no other student in his school has been able to achieve. He sets his own bar very high... and then meets it every time.
Miguel has set a goal for himself of becoming a lawyer. There is no doubt in my mind that, with the help of the National Teen Leadership Program, Miguel will gain skills that will help him become a very successful lawyer! The National Teen Leadership Program is exactly the kind of experience that Miguel tackles and thrives on!
Thank you all so much for helping me get to NTLP! I had such an amazing time with great people from all around the world! We shared our passion for leadership and learned among one another! Thank you!
I am so excited to attend the National Teen Leadership Program. I want to thank every single one of you, as well as my advocate Mr. Miller, for your continuous support because without you all, I would not be able to attend. Thank you again, I will make sure to keep you updated in my endeavors.
