Marcella's Story

My passion is to create art. My passion makes me excited because it lets me show myself and others what I can do with my talent and how I can make it better. I feel better when I draw because no one else can tell me what I can do and not to do with my drawings and how to make them. I feel like I am my own person when I draw or do any other kind of art like computer art.

A Note from Ms. Dubiel, Marcella's Teacher

Marcella is one of the most kind-hearted students I have met. When you interact with her, you can’t help but smile. She has a kind word for everyone and will offer a helping hand in any situation. She loves to help others and welcomes the chance to show compassion. She is bright, loves to explore new things, and asks great questions. She has always expressed an interest in art and artistic expression, and I believe the FIT summer program will be the perfect program for her to combine college prep with her interest in art and design. I am excited to see what great things she will get out of the FIT program.

My summer at FIT

I studied interior design and Adobe Illustrator at the FIT teen summer program. I really want to become a graphic designer in Scandinavia because I love the illustrations and culture and this program helped me understand that. I would recommend this program to a friend because you can get an equal chance at enhancing your abilities in the things that you love to do. My advice would be to keep an open mind and make new connections with people. I now have new friends from out of state, and two are from India and South Korea.

I am really glad that I had the opportunity to attend a school that provides the environment and teachings that will help me progress in life. Thank you for all your help.

Ready for my summer at FIT

I am happy that I got
an opportunity like this to enhance my skills in the visual arts. The goals I
have for myself while attending the program are to explore creative minds that
will influence me to develop my own style of work and to gain more social skills
with others. I am nervous that I won’t be able to reach my goal to be a
self-employed artist who affects the world and myself in a positive way. The
challenge I would face during my program would be my confidence in my work and
the way others view me. I will overcome it by interacting with others who I can
connect to with our everyday culture. I feel like if I obtain trust in myself
and from others I will be able to obtain such goals in the future.

Thank you for contributing to my dreams and goals. I am really appreciative of your kindness and the time you took to help me. Now I can begin studying the Visual Arts in a professional environment. The program I will attend will help improve my skills in the Visual Arts. Thank you so much for your generosity.
