Shanice's Story

Shanice has been drawing her own fashion designs since the seventh grade, and this summer she wants to take another positive step towards pursuing a career in fashion. Sewing for Fashion Designers at FIT will give her the skills needed to produce pieces in her unique style.

Sketching and Design

I am so excited about attending the Fashion Art program at FIT! So far, we have started to learn how to sketch a model body and use it to design swimsuits! I also met a lot of students from all over the world. It was so fun, I can't wait to go back. Thanks for all of your help!

Making Lasting Friendships

I hope to learn a lot of new things about fashion at FIT. I would love to learn how to sew complicated pieces together with my hands and with a sewing machine. I am most excited about meeting new people who have similar interests. I hope I am able to make some lasting friendships. While I attend High School Summer Live, my main goals are to master everything I am taught and to have a lot of fun.

Good luck and have fun at FIT Shanice! Maybe someday you can redesign Uncommon's uniforms and turn them into something kids will actually want to wear :) - Mr. G
