Michael's Story

My passion is soccer.

I decided to start playing at age 5 when I told my dad I wanted to be like the guys on TV. I've been playing for 10 years and have not even lost one bit of interest or love towards this beautiful and amazing game. My father was not really home because of work, so my grandfather took me to every single practice and game. When he was my age, he was called to the Mexican national team, but he had to take care of his brothers and sisters and couldn't reach his life goal of becoming a pro soccer player. I want to make him proud even though he is no longer with me. Soccer is more than a hobby, it's a passion. My biggest dream and goal is to become pro, not only for myself but also for my grandfather.

I know that at the Nike Soccer Camp I will learn many skills and maybe even stuff I did not know. I have heard many good stuff about this camp, and it sounds fantastic: there are many college scouts and many coaches who will help me advance or make my skills better. Even though I have been playing for 10 years, I feel like I have more to explore in my passion for soccer.
