My passion is veterinary science.
Ever since I as a young girl, I have loved animals. It has always been my passion to care for them. My family adopted many pets growing up and the best part was taking care of them. I aspire to become a veterinarian. I believe that every animal should be cared for and never turned away, but veterinary bills can be expensive. I want to help change that. No animal deserves to be turned away from receiving medical attention.
Prestina is a good candidate for the Centenary Summer Scholars program because she has a passion to learn more about veterinary science. She will benefit from participating in this program by developing several pre-service skills and abilities that may serve her well as she further prepares for undergraduate studies. In addition, Prestina will have an opportunity to network with other students with a passion to enter the veterinary field.
Prestina, I love animals just as you do. As a teenager, I dreamed of being a veterinarian, but I gave up after a teacher told me about the obstacles to achieving my dream. Now I am a physician and know that every goal has obstacles that we can overcome. Keep your kind heart and go after your dreams starting with this program -- many small steps will add up to a long distance. We are all rooting for you!
