Lisa's Story

My passion is theater and film.

I discovered this passion when I went to my first musical "The Wiz." I only really went because my brothers were a part of it: My brother Chris played the the Tin Man and my other brother Billy worked backstage. I was so intrigued by the costumes, music, and characters. I knew then that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I then got my first lead role as Genie in the musical "Aladdin."

Attending ACTeen Summer Academy would mean a lot. It will give me that extra intellect to become a better performer. I intend on double-majoring in theater and film. So, this will give me that extra step I want to reach my dreams and goals.

A Note from Mr. Gil, Lisa's Mentor

"Lisa loves to perform with Bronx Prep's Speech and Debate team. She needs it. This young lady is tenacious in her pursuit of opportunities to act and dance and sing. I don't feel that she any opportunities to participate in theater if it weren't for the BP Speech and Debate Team. Whoever supports her in this endeavor would be changing a life and providing fuel for a dream."

My Expericence at ACTeen and Thank yous!!

I want to thank you all that donated for giving me the opportunity to attend a summer program at ACTeen! I really appreciate your generosity and support. My dream is to become an Professional actress and this brought me one step closer to reaching my goal. I met new friends and learned from actual professionals that actually cared and assisted in helping me learn new techniques. Thank you all so much again! I would not have been able to do this with out your generous donations.

Your donations have helped me keep going. Because of your help I do not have to stress about my financial status to pay for the conservatory. I get to focus on my school work and progress on. Thank you guys so much. We have reached our goal!
