My passion is medicine.
I discovered my passion for medicine when I was in middle school and took a Living Environment Class. This class shaped my view on how the human body functions, and I began to develop an unparalleled joy for this class. I fell in love with how the body works, and I was able to combine this with my joy of helping others to realize that my true passion is medicine.
Attending Centenary Summer Scholars will help me pursue my passion for medicine by allowing me to visualize what truly lies ahead of my pursuit in the medical field. Attending Centenary Summer Scholars will allow me to understand what I have to do in order to be successful in the medical field. This would also further educate me on what specific branch of medicine I truly desire to go into.
I am confident that with any career Alejandro chooses to pursue he will exceed and overachieve. Alejandro's passion is the medical field. Despite the hurdles that tumble on his path, he never gives up. Alejandro is an elite candidate for Centenary Summer Scholars because he is very engaged in anything he is committed to. He gives himself in towards new challenges and experiences to deepen his fulfillment towards getting steps closer to his future achievements. Alejandro will greatly benefit from this program because it is a great opportunity to further supplement his passion with new learnings and takeaways.
Centenary summer scholars gave me insight on what it was like to be a college student. I felt like the week I spent there went by fast. I really enjoyed the classroom environment and material. The education was good and I learned a variety of new topics in biology.
I am very thankful and appreciative of everyone that has helped to support me along my journey to attend Centenary Summer Scholars. I am very glad to be able to have a preview of college life and each of my donors have helped contribute to that. Each one of you have shaped my life by donating to my campaign and for that I am truly grateful. Thank you all for this amazing opportunity!

What impresses me about Alejandro Parra is his professionalism. He is only in 10th grade but possesses skills indicative of a mature young man.
