Jonathan's Story

My passion is learning for the sake of learning.

Learning became my passion ever since I started attending a charter school. Here, I have always wanted to know more about every subject that I've taken. At home, I do research independently on topics that I learn about at school. All of these different, extra things that I do outside of school increase my interest in learning because they cause me to crave learning more and more.

Phillips Exeter Academy Summer School would push me to become a more well-rounded student by helping me develop the skills that I excel at and the improve the areas where I struggle, like writing. For example, math and science are taught in seminar style at Exeter. With this learning style, I will be able to better understand the lessons by working together with other students rather than relying on the professor to tell us the answer. This type of learning environment will allow me to contribute to the community while expanding my ways of thinking.
