Hello Wishbone Donors. I would like to start off by saying thank you to all the people who supported me so that I could go to my summer program. I cannot thank you enough for the help that I got from you and for the amazing opportunity that you gave me. I had a great time at NSLC Medicine and Healthcare, it was such an amazing experience that if I could do it again, I would. It is mind blowing how much I changed and learned in 9 days. I am usually very shy, and I am not the kind of person that likes to take risks, but throughout the course of the program I saw the change in myself. I noticed that I became more outgoing, that I took risks, that I am less shy than before, I also noticed that I became a better leader and I am grateful for those changes. Soon after the program was done I went to my cousin's house and she noticed the difference in me and asked "what's wrong with you? You're usually not like this." When she asked me that I knew that this change would stick. NSLC impacted me in an unexpected way. I did things that I probably would not have done if I didn't have the support and safe environment that I had there. I learned so many things, I got to live the college life, I saw how doctors perform surgery on someone with an aneurysm, and I even learned how to suture. My favorite part of the program was doing the dissections because I found it really cool to touch a pig's brain, a sheep heart, and a cow eye. I also liked the team building activities; they were very effective and they were something new. In particular, the ropes course was very difficult for me. I was scared, I had to get out of my comfort zone, and I had to put in some trust in the people around me, and that was pretty hard. In conclusion, I had an amazing time at NSLC Medicine and Healthcare, it was a life-changing experience that I will never forget, and it all happened thanks to you. Thank You.

I am going to be participating in the NSLC Medicine and Healthcare Program this summer. Thank you to all my donors. I am having an opportunity that only comes once in a lifetime. I am very excited to attend NSLC Medicine and Healthcare because I will get to have a view of the medical field and actually get to know what it feels to do hands on activities. Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that I wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. Wishbone and my donors have made it possible to make my dream come true. NSLC Medicine and Healthcare will help me know if the medical field is right for me and will help me in the future.

I chose this summer program because it fits me. This program fits my passion of helping others, especially children. This summer program will be like stepping into my dream for a few days. It will give me insight into the medical field. It will also help me develop my communications skills. It will definitely be a new experience for me to break out of my shell and meet new people with similar ambitions. Most importantly, this program is only the first step of many and even though it is a long journey, it will all be worth it in the end. Making my dream come true will be the cherry on top of all the hard work that I put in. Thank you so much for supporting my dream.
