Rackean's Story

My passion is engineering.

My love for engineering started when I went on a tour at Google in Chelsea, NY. During the visit, I learned about the important jobs that engineers have in the world of technology. This newly-found information inspired me to become a software engineer with an extremely open mind. I aspire to become the next Steve Jobs or hope to be a well respected software engineer for Google. I believe that the UConn Explore Engineering Program through Wishbone will be a great way to further my aspirations.

A Note from Ms. Burke, Rackean's Teacher

Even though our school has an engineering program, it is very limited as our school is small and heavy focused on more traditional academic subjects. The UConn Explore Engineering Program program would allow Rackean to pursue his passion in a more intensely focused environment. It would also allow him the opportunity to work with other students that have similar passions and further encourage him to continue on an engineering path.
