My passion is the law.
I discovered this passion when I was little and saw actors being lawyers, for the sake of the show. I saw how they acted and how well-respected they were. I also saw how they did what's best for their clients and fought for the right thing all the time. But I know in reality that's not always what a lawyer stands for. Sometimes they'll do certain things just to get ahead, not earning their place. I want to become the type of lawyer that does fight for the right thing, that knows how to earn her way ahead and I want to be the type of lawyer that does what's in the clients best interest. Also, I'm the type of person that likes to argue until I've proven my point.
This program will help me with my passion because it will give me prior knowledge about how to act and present myself in a courtroom. I will get to experience what it takes to win your case and what strategies work best. After learning these skills, I will be better equipped to use this once I become a lawyer.
"Luz is singularly focused surprisingly early in her high school career on the goal of becoming a lawyer by studying at Stanford. She works extremely hard at school, collaborates well with teammates, and excels at her work. I think it will be invaluable for her to get out of the small fishbowl of our school (where she is a big fish!) and into a group of highly motivated students like herself."
First and foremost, I want to once again say thank you to all the donors who supported me throughout my campaign. Without your help, my going to this program wouldn't be possible. To update you on everything that's been going on, I'm now official! I've been getting ready to attend my program in the summer by submitting further forms and have done everything on the recommended checklist. Now all that's left is to check in, have fun, and learn! Once again, thank you for helping me reach my goal.
To our beautiful daughter who we're helping reach her goal of becoming a lawyer. And remember, success is being better than you were yesterday.
