My passion is the study of human behavior.
My passion for studying human behavior was discovered in school several years ago. One day, my teacher asked the class about our goals in life, and I thought, well what does being passionate about something mean to someone? My teacher simply said, "being passionate about something is doing something that makes your life complete and wishing that it would never end." My school community is full of individuals that do not care as much about their future as I do and at times it can be difficult to concentrate on my future. After I told my teacher that I did not know what my passion was, she told me to do some research on psychology and tell her my thoughts on it. I told her that it was a really interesting topic, and in the future, one of my personal goals would be to take an actual psychology class.
Psychology has been my passion for years now and i do not plan on changing it. Studying psychology at Blueprint will aid me in exploring my passion because it will be the first class I take that actually focuses on what I am really interested in. Furthermore, it can allow me to become more knowledgeable about my future career.
Hector is very passionate about the study of human behavior and has expressed his desire to major in psychology in college. Unfortunately, our school does not currently offer any classes in psychology, however, that has not stopped Hector from exploring this interest. We partner with College Now at Lehman College and Hector has signed up to take general psychology after school twice a week to earn college credit.
Hector is an excellent candidate for Blueprint Summer at Lehigh. He has a wonderful personality and is able to connect with any student. He is respectful, thoughtful, sensitive, non-judgmental, never complains, is always helpful, and extremely supportive to his friends. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. Hector will benefit greatly from the opportunity to be surrounded by students who share a similar passion and this experience will only further excite him for the college application process that lies ahead.
Overall, Blueprint helped me realize that I am ready for college and that I can make it. I took a psychology course for two weeks and I really liked it. I hope to pursue that field when I go off to college. Lehigh University is an incredible and beautiful college that I am going to apply and hopefully get accepted to. Apart from the academic department, the students and the RA's that I met there are incredible and made it a fun experience. Thank you to everyone who funded me and helped me be able to attend this program. I really appreciate it.
So far, my Wishbone experience has been one of the greatest opportunities that has been offered to me and the actual program has yet to begin. Every day, I get home and immediately check my e-mail for any Wishbone updates about information that I'm missing or helpful videos. For example, I got an e-mail stating that a new Q&A has been updated about campaign season, which is awesome. Even though my program is only for two weeks, I cannot wait until I get the chance to live in an actual college dorm, and finally take a class that focuses on my dream career in psychology.
