Ansmyr's Story

My passion is business.

My passion started as a result of working with my father in his electronics shop in Haiti. When I was 12, I took a small loan from my father and rented the little booth next to where he worked. I bought PlayStation consoles and a few televisions. With those items, I created my first business. It was an arcade for kids in Haiti who could pay a few dollars to play video games for an hour. By the end of the summer, I made enough money to pay back my father and 800 Haitian dollars in profit. I clearly was made for the business industry.

By attending the Blueprint Summer at UConn Program, I would learn more about what business really is from an academic standpoint. The lessons and activities will better prepare me, and I will have the chance to spend my summer on a college campus. I want to take every opportunity available, and this would be the perfect next step.

I believe that Ansmyr would benefit greatly from this leadership program. He has a lot to offer, and is so eager to learn more. Surrounding himself with other students from all walks of life will make Ansmyr a more well-rounded person. He seems eager to learn about new topics. He is dedicated, motivated, and this program will ensure he is successful with future endeavors.

My experience at Blueprint Summer program at Uconn

I want to thank all my donors because if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have experienced the best week of my summer at Uconn. I met a lot of amazing people, I learned so much about business, I got to experience what it was like living on campus and I had a lot of fun. Thank you!

Blueprint Summer Program at Uconn

This summer, I am going to participate at Blueprint Summer Program at UConn. I will have the opportunity to take business classes which is my passion. By taking some business classes I will get more business ideas for when I graduate from college to make my own business.

I am very thankful I'm getting this pre-college experience and I would also thank all the participants who donated on my campaign to make this possible.
