I am passionate about pre-college because I want to experience how college life will be and learn how to get through my college years. I discovered my passion for pre-college when I was 8 or 9 years old. When I was that age, I realized that no one in my family had ever attended college except my uncle. Most of my family members couldn't attend school because in our culture children have to stay home to help their parents. When I see people going to college, I say to myself that I will be that person one day and I will study as hard as I can when I get there. I desire to be a successful person and I can be a successful person by being great in academics and continuing to pursue my goal of going to college.
I believe that attending Ithaca Summer College for three weeks this summer will help me prepare for college mentally and academically. I know I will be nervous on my first day of college but I hope that by going to Ithaca College this summer I will be able to calm my nerves and practice interacting with new people. The rigorous courseload this summer will also help me academically prepare for college classes. I am really excited to attend Ithaca College this summer and am especially looking forward to doing many different things because I love learning and experiencing new things.
Tenzin is the type of scholar who sets her sights high and then goes for it. Tenzin for the past 3 years has involved herself both in internal as well as external programs which will lend themselves to developing her portfolio of learning. She has actively involved herself in the student government, National Honor Society, AMS IV Street Team (new student recruitment), Regents Prep, Cub Advisor (co-facilitating homeroom), SAT Prep (weekends), Principal Honor Roll, etc. This level of work has required countless hours of investment beyond the academic day, yet Tenzin does it with a smile and little to no complaints.
Tenzin is a good candidate for Ithaca Summer College, because she is college bound. Her participation in the program would be a rewarding benefit, because it will help to resolve some unanswered questions for her regarding the college experience and delving into areas of interest. I can only imagine Tenzin going to the program with a high level of curiosity and returning to our school with information that will help to keep her aspirations set on college.
I've learned so many new things and I really want to thank everyone who has shown support towards my future and education. Through this new experience, I've met so many great people and was able to give more thoughts towards my future 🙏.
I am very excited to go to Ithaca college and Mrs. Reed has helped me with my documents. I really want to thank the people who have supported me. I really appreciate your help.
