My passion is medicine.
Growing up, I always observed how my mom came home from work every day. I would eagerly wait for her at the door, to come and share her experiences with me. She would tell me how her day was and how thankful she was for this job. Helping and making people feel better always played a big role in her daily life. Ever since then, my passion for nursing grew more and more. Many people would always tell me that it’s a tough career and it’s a really long way. Yet still, I always felt like nursing is the perfect career for me because I love helping out others and overcoming challenges. Everyday you learn new things and continue to grow. Knowing that you're providing a patient emotional and/or physical support can have an impact you won't ever forget.
By attending Envision NYLF Medicine, it will benefit me a lot. This program will help me to pursue my passion because it would help me determine and question my ability. Seeing it and experiencing it are two different things, and I would be very lucky if I am able to experience my future beforehand. My passion for nursing will develop and enhance even more. I'll be able to better observe just a little of the challenges a nurse faces. I would also meet new people who I'd never forget. I still have two years to decide my career path but this program would really help me decide what my heart desires to do. This will be a chance for me to develop, learn, and to go out of my comfort zone. Everyday, my goal would be to serve my patients with love and respect.
Yashika is an excellent candidate for Envision NYLF Medicine because she has proven time and time again that nursing is a passion she is seriously committed to. Since meeting her two years ago, I have seen Yashika consistently put in the work needed to achieve her goals. She has demonstrated resourcefulness and fiercely advocated for support and opportunities to help better prepare herself for the future she has envisioned. While Yashika has been incredibly proactive on her own, having this opportunity through Envision NYLF Medicine will allow her to explore her passion on a new level. I believe this program will be a deep source of inspiration and motivation as she continues to put in all the hard work necessary to achieve her dreams.
Yashika's determination to do her best in both her high school and college level courses will take her far; however, having actual experience in her field of interest would be profound. Yashika has shared with me how much she loves hearing her mother's stories about experiences as a nurse. Getting this glimpse of the day-to-day life of a nurse has definitely fueled her curiosity and excitement about nursing. I can only imagine how much actually delving into this field herself would benefit Yashika.
Thank you all very much for giving me the opportunity to go out and attend this program. I truly loved every minute of it and miss it so much now since it's over. I made so many new friends and references I'll never forget. On top of that, I had the best experience there and experienced things I've never done before. I'm grateful and proud to say this experience was truly life changing and I thank you all very much for that.
