My passion is basketball, which I discovered at the age of 10 when I was in the 5th grade. When I first played basketball, I wasn't as good as the others in my grade. However, they pushed me to become better mentally and physically. As I have gotten older, their motivation has pushed me everyday to do better and be a better basketball player. My family is very supportive of my basketball aspirations, pushing me to improve each day by helping me train my body and mind, learning how to be the best. In teaching me to become a student-athlete, my family always reminds me that student comes first in that phrase, so I make sure my grades are always on par with the best.
US Sports Nike Basketball Camps will help me pursue my passion for basketball because it will push everyday that I could be better and do better in life as I grow up. By going to this basketball camp, I will be able to work harder on my game in basketball, and it will help push my dreams further to go the NBA.
Nasir is a renaissance student who can show a high passion for many endeavors and uses references from the game of basketball to conquer certain areas of life. The key factors in what makes Nasir a great candidate for US Sports Nike Basketball Camps are reflection and humility. Nasir is a reflective student in regards to receiving some form of feedback and criticism from an adult. He does not refute what is said. Instead, he attempts to actually digest the feedback and then make the adjustments to himself to push forward. It's his humility that allows him to do this which makes for a great combination for a growing athlete.
