My passion is to make a difference in the lives of others through computer science.
Computer science became my passion when I decided to take the AP Computer Science course at my high school. Though I entered the class with no knowledge of computer programming, it taught me the basis for communication with technology. It was from the smallest programming activities like writing my name, to the larger ones such as making a calculator, that I realized how much computer science is used in my own life. My goal is to use computer science, whether it be educating others or developing a program of my own, to make a difference in someone else's life.
Through Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes, I will be able to learn more about how computer programming shapes communication in the world today. This program will also allow me to meet other students with similar passions and interests that I have. I hope to be inspired by others and be able to experiment with other branches of computer science. I plan to develop my passion by using the opportunities given, such as the hands-on experiences with app making, as a way to discover more about how computer science works. This experience will allow me to explore more and consider studying in this field in the future.
"Kamy is a great candidate for the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institute in computer science. This program will be a good fit for Kamy because of the material and experience. First, Kamy has a great understanding of computer programming, but she does not have any experience with game design and artificial intelligence. As far as the experience goes, Kamy is an extremely mature young lady, and it would be invaluable for her to have the opportunity to live on a college campus. I think this will help her better understand the college environment and her likes and dislikes. This will help her with the college application process and help her choose the right school her senior year."
I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to attend Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes and be part of the Computer Simulations and Interactive Media course. Through this 3-week program, I was able to learn different coding languages that I had no experience with. I was able to meet others who shared the same passion for computer programming, and they guided me through every activity. I was able to finish the program having accomplished my goal of producing my own game. I got to experience college life and learn more about the admissions process. It was a memorable experience that I will never forget. Thank you for all your donations and support!

Hello everyone! I'm so thankful for the opportunity to attend Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes this summer. I cannot wait to be able to learn more about computer simulations and meet others with the same passion. I will be learning about app development through basic programming.
