My passion is medicine. My passion for medicine began at a very young age. When I was a little girl, my mom would read me books about people who fell sick and needed to visit the doctor. They always came back better, and I always wondered what being a doctor truly meant. Once I was enrolled in school, one question we were always asked was: what do you want to be when you grow up? They gave us a list of careers and I saw that doctor as one of them. I went home and asked my mom what being a doctor meant. One day, I had gotten a fever and she took me to the doctors office. They had take my temperature and give me medicine, but by the time I left, I was feeling a lot better. This helped me realize what I wanted to be when I grew up.
Attending Envision NYLF Medicine will help pursue my passion for medicine, as it will help me get a clear understanding of how medicine helps everyone.
Nicole is a strong candidate for Envision NYLF Medicine because of her drive, her intelligence, and her contagious personality. Nicole is one of the most driven students that I have ever worked with. When she struggles or makes mistakes, her first response is to do everything that she can to improve. She has high expectations for herself and will work as hard as she has to in order to meet those expectations. Nicole wants to be a doctor, so she will work her hardest in this program to make the most of her experience. Nicole is also incredibly intelligent. She learns fast, including learning content inside the classroom and life skills outside the classrooms. In addition to her drive and intelligence, Nicole is kind to everyone around her. She brings joy wherever she goes and makes everyone feel included. Other students would benefit from having Nicole around them in this program.
