Guadalupe's Story

My passion is leadership development.

My passion for leadership development began when I had the opportunity to be a part of a summer program called "Peninsula Bridge." There I got to explore my other passion for architecture by participating in electives, apart from the curricular classes. I quickly learned that in order to be an effective architect, I need to be a strong leader. This program will help give me the tools I need to learn to become a stronger leaders in school, in life and in my community.

A Note from Mrs. HOY, Guadalupe's Mentor

The "Youth Leadership Conference on Asian and Pacific Islander Health" program will definitely be enhanced by the mere presence of this humble leader. Guadalupe is genuinely curious about the world in which she lives and, when collaborating, shares this passion with others in a way that also provides space for them to contribute equally. By immersing herself in this program, Guadalupe will, without a doubt, be further inspired in her academic pursuits.

Thank you so much for giving me this amazing opportunity!

Hello! My name is Guadalupe and this summer I got to do something really special and unique thanks to you! During my time at the Youth Leadership Conference, not only did I have fun and got to meet a lot of new people, I learned more about myself, the people/ leaders around me and what awaits in my future. During those four days, I got the opportunity to express myself, be creative and get out of my comfort zone to create a proposal and present it to the leaders of the Asian Liver Center. Thank you so much for helping me attend this unbelievable event! Here are some pictures of my team and me on our last day on this short, but incredible journey.
